Lang Lang is a wonderful artist. The best piano player of the world in our days.

I'm the most likely person to bash him for his theatrics, but hat off to Lang Lang for this performance!!

@muziqueonmymind You can add late-19th- early 20th-century, and it definitely spread beyond French borders. It really broke with conventions.... there is a story of Debussy as a student writing parallel fifths and octaves (which were prohibited in choral writing: i.e., two voices can't move in fifths or octaves), and his teacher scolded him. Debussy answered "but I like the sound of them" or something along those lines. Just an anecdote...

It sounds so asian-like that I didn't realize it was impressionistic.
But Watercolor sounds like something Ravel would compose, doesn't it.

:D Great Playing keep it up Lang Lang

it was a musical movement in france in the 19th century eg. Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel, Erik Satie.... mostly french composers... there is also impressionistic art as well. hope that helps

Tan Dun - the same guy who composed the soundtracks for "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon", "Hero" etc. Beautiful cello music.
