anyone know if it's possible to build a small furnace with a washing machine heating element? They are around 2000W right?

Sand and buff it when it cools it will shine right up like a mirror. Great job guys! I've never had the problem of having TOO much metal left over! LOL

I suppose thats not casting sand, but I have heard that you can use type of sugar sand to cast at least aluminum ingots, I wonder if a mixture of silica sand and milled bentonite will work, I want to make a ball mill to mill betonite into "dust" like consistencey, if you cannot find raw bentonite around your area, just go find sacks of plain ole floor dry or oil dry, with no addmixtures.

aluminum is much easier to melt, melts at a much lower temperature
And show us the result, it should be beautiful.
