I like how you had the kids dress up. All my 7th graders mummify their own chickens. It's a great motivator!

@Skidgate - It turned out really well. Felt like hard rubber, and had no odor at all. I kept my first one in a cabinet for 7 years to show the kids how well the technique worked.
