a few things:

1) I really loved the YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO HOME, YOU CAN STAY HERE video! 2) I agree with you about what you are saying here, the desire to live is already in us, but the desire to listen and ability to be heard is something that needs to be developed and is a necessity.

3) It just hit me the other day ... your voice reminds me so much of charles bukowski when he read poetry live. So I thought you might think this is a complement too. -- thanks for everything bud!

I'd rather hear that than the you sound like "Jack Nicholoson, Bob NewHart or Frasier Crane" comments I sometimes get :P -- I actually met Bukowski in the early 90's--if you ever want to hear the story--pm and I'll send you a private video. @buryinggod: Thanks for the comment. I think anybody that makes it past 18 sees their share of good times and hard times... One thing I didn't have time to go into that many people I worked with on the crisis line were really good at listening to and trying to help people--but their private lives were a wreck (including mine sometimes)... which is a good reason to try to help people if you can... it takes you out of yourself and you realize that you are not the center of the universe ;)

I have been going through very rough times lately. I haven't spoken to anyone about what's been going on, howver i do find that people like to talk to me because i listen to them. It seems to make me feel better as well, even if it's only for a while.
