Indrek Galetin (born 1987) is a Estonian photographer who works in the fields of fashion, music, portrait, celebrity and advertising photography. He is best known for his charity photo exhibitions and an tasteful nude portraits of the Estonian celebrities and models.
Career
In February, 2008 Indrek Galetin opened the famous "Amour -- Vahet pole" (No Matter Who You Love). It was a high profile charity photo exhibition, which contains nude portraits of the most prominent Estonian celebrities and models such as Piret Järvis, Lenna Kuurmaa, Beatrice, Anu Saagim, Rolf Roosalu, Charlene, Mari-Leen, Daana Ots and Karolin Kuusik. The idea was to show that love can be different no matter what kind of love it is. Galetin wanted to show love and relationship between people no matter if they are gay, lesbian or bisexual persons. The photos were sold in an online auction and all the collected money, 123.000 kroons (7.861 euros), was presented to the movement fighting against AIDS in Estonia.
In May, 2009 Galetin decided to make the second part "Amour -- Lemmikloomade eri" (Special Love to Animals). This time he devoted it to animals. He took photos of the Estonian famous public faces such as Liis Lass, Anna-maria Galojan, Rolf Roosalu, Mari-Leen, Lauri Pedaja, Mikk Nurga and Angela Aak with their favorite pets. Galetin wanted to show that true love can be not only toward human beings, but animals as well. The photos were sold in an online auction and all the collected money, 45.600 kroons (2.923 euros), was presented to the animal shelters in Estonia.
Indrek Galetin had the great chance to work as the official photographer of the Eurovision Song Contest and the Junior Eurovision Song Contest at the European Broadcasting Union. The first is an annual, one of the longest running and most watched TV-show in the world and the latter is its baby-sister, inaugurated in 2003. He took pictures for the official websites -- Eurovision.tv and JuniorEurovision.tv. Galetin joined the EBU team in 2008 when the Eurovision Song Contest was held in Belgrade, Serbia.
Indrek Galetin's photos has been published by digital and printed press all over the world.
