haha, reading back on some of godsends posts that guy was clearly a pillock. russell's about the least interested person in politics you could find, if you think he's got a politcial agenda you must be mental. the stuff he said was pretty much just highlighting america's cultural differences from a british perspective because of the context. if he'd gone on about britain on an awards show that no one here watches it wouldn't have been relevant. his role was as host but also cultural outsider.

I always get a chuckle from the cynicism that oozes out of every comment i see made by some presumably British person on Youtube comments."oh how horrid, those yanks don't understand our intellect or humour" (I'll choose to ignore my spell check as this alternative spelling is for effect) By any chance have you considered the fact that maybe the majority are completely capable of understanding British humor and maybe they just dont enjoy it. Personally, i like almost anything Brit, it's a shame

It has nothing to do with not understanding British humor. It's a cultural thing. I am highly intelligent and can grasp anything, and altho I understand British humor, I simply don't find it funny. Think about it, the subtle nuances, the vibe, issues, slang, etc, they would all be different then what we in NA are used to. It goes the other was as well I imagine. Peace.
