@drwatson5050 Well said.

@LYLS3637 ... no one would expect his wife to interrupt him and say "No, it doesn't say that." Likewise, if a minister is a woman and she's teaching, no one would expect her husband to interrupt her and say "No, you're teaching that wrong." It's more a matter of husband and wife respecting each other than women being "inferior" to men.

@LYLS3637 Romans was physically written by a man, but it was dictated by God. And there are some things in the Bible that you have to take with a grain of salt. For instance, the thing about women. I'm a girl and I always hated that the Bible seemed so sexist because it says that God is no respecter of persons, meaning he doesn't discriminate between people. Then the minister of my church explained it to me. If a minister is a man (and they all were in Paul's time) and he's teaching, no on

Since almost all of the "presidential hopefuls" today are more than a little fictional, why not nominate Bartlet for the job? Damn, it's a fearfully screwed up world we live in when the likes of santorum even THINKS he has a chance. Scares the shit outta me.

@tgillspy2 So is wearing two types of fabric. You should be stoned to death, or is that okay to dismiss?

As I understand it. The policy that gays should not serve in the military was that it would disrupt unit cohesion and that gays couldn't be successful soldiers. Is there anyone who could actually say that Alexander the Great wasn't a successful military leader or he was unsucessful in his endeavor?

That's where you lose the common sense argument. Romans was written by a man. Not by God, but by man. Humans, by nature, are infallible. How could you possibly dictate your moral compass by something written by a man over 2,000 years ago? In addition, Paul completely disregarded women as having any standing in society, so why don't you say God wants women to remain submissive beings?

What a great scene..

Pwned

While I don't understand homosexuality I'll say this. If a person wants to serve their country then they should able to. Time to stop seeing people for what they are and start seeing them for who they are.
You know what? Bartlett is probably the greatest fictional person ever created, and he couldn't get DADT repealed. Obama did.

would you allow a gay doctor or nurse to treat you or a cop or firefighter to save you? if not or your not sur ask them before they save your life or the lives of your family and friends. it's always been strange to me how gay haters don't want gays in the military but have no problem with them on the beat or in the operating room or donating an organ!
