Benjamin Creme of Share International reacts to Scott James about a column Mr. James wrote for The New York Times about a modern day messiah movement. Some followers of Share International have concluded that San Francisco author Raj Patel is Maitreya the World Teacher, which has led to an avalanche of unwanted attention. Mr. Patel makes no claims to being a god and had never heard of Share International before all this started. In this interview conducted by phone from London on 2/5/10, Mr. Creme shares his thoughts on whether Mr. Patel is Maitreya.

@maitreyalux people are where they are! We must show tolerance for the ignorant. We may all be equal, but we are not all at the same place at the same time! All the information about Maitreya is in the nature of prophesy... only time will tell the truth to those that are misguided :-)
