A song from the MINSTREL IN THE GALLERY album. I like every song which uses the great G5 chord shape!

  • The strumming is incorrect, the picking aspect is missing, and the timing is completely wrong. For example, "and I'll float on your melody"1-2 count, and back on 3 with,"sing your chorus soft and low" Sorry mate, but listen to Andre on YT. Much better! His picking is kinda sloppy, but I will give him 9 out of 10. Also, the vocalizations...trying too hard, but still missing the richness and passion of Ian. I know Tull forwards and back again. This is not good. Not trying to be nasty. 5 out of 10

  • Has nothing to do with Ian. This is MY voice and My guitar skills and MY arrangement. I couldn't care less how close to some record I sound. I would just listen to the record if that were the case. These videos are for me to remember the chord sequences... I am always amazed that you and anyone else even bothers to look at them.

  • One of my favourite Tull songs, and another great performance. Do you have tabs for all these songs or did you work them out youself?

  • Did I send you the link? I only worked out Song for Jeffrey and Back to the Family. thank you for watching!

  • By the way, you should watch my Thick As A Brick. No, really you should. The above comment is about Song For Jeffrey, not this one. And by the way, why are you even looking at covers of JT, when clearly JT is what you want? Not trying to be mean, but Jethro Tull records are very satisfying and they are all you will need to be entertained. PS I also don't use the guitars Ian uses. You remind me of Gene Siskel.

  • As the righteous half passed tonight's two o'clock I suddenly noticed how relaxed I went through your entire video. I thoroughly enjoy listening to this. It's got a very campfireish, friendly atmosphere to it. The fact that you're not trying too hard makes it all the more believable for us mere mortals.

    Great stuff!

  • I know you are a fan of Tull, I appreciate that, but why do other fans put you down? you have your own style and voice which are uncanny at times. To the complainers that say you are no Ian, I say let your own voice and talent speak rather than your complaints. Good Job and a bravo from me to you

  • Very good Jack. I hadn't seen this one before tonight. YouTube is a great place to share what you do and to see and enjoy each others' work and I, for one, am glad that you share yours.

  • I think youve done a pretty good job...dont care youre not exact......still liked it. go you

  • loved it first time i watched this long ago, now looked through my early "Favorites" during breakfast and yeah, still love it :-) too bad my rendition of it never got to the tube, wasn't very interesting.. one day!

  • @marksecunda Rock on. I thought your interpretation was well presented, except for the mic.

  • Even Tull doesn't sound like Tull anymore - and, you sound more like Tull when Tull DID sound like Tull. Ian's 'change-ups' pf the last 10 years either show that he is no longer as he once was or he is bored. Perfection cannot be improved upon - but it can be interpreted - and you interpret well.

  • Very well done.

  • 3eyedho talks shit hicko best tull tribute out there watch this guy mr anderson

  • MY goodness! We ARE testy, aren't we! You're the one who said you worked 35 freakin' years, to try to sound like Ian, so, ??? That whole schpeel about "how you don't care", is bull, as I see how MUCH that you want to be just like the record, from other songs that you have done, and comments like,"oops, I forgot the ending", etc. So, therefore, your talent has a line to be drawn, as to what you're able to tackle, skill wise. It's cool. Some can't, some can. Just happy your not my mechanic!
