  • Thanks alot

  • @Mr2010gartman No problem at all.

  • Will this port replacement fix no sound on iphone 3g?

  • @Mr2010gartman The dock port assembly includes the loud speaker (ringer). If that is your issue, then yes, it should resolve the issue. If you are looking for the ear speaker, we also have these available at RepairsUniverse (dot) com.

  • When trying to charge my phone is goes from charging to not charging every few seconds will this fix it? Also sometimes my phone charges ok.

  • @Akyalex This does sound like an issue with the dock port assembly. Sometimes this connection can also become loose. Next time this happens, apply some pressure on the bottom of the phone, this will tell you if it is a connection issue. If it is, you can likely just follow this video and check the connections. If not, a replacement may be required.

  • @giklights No restarts necessary in most cases. Very rarely will you have to reset after a repair such as this, as the motherboard is not effected.

  • i have a question. what would happen if i put it all back? would i have to restart it and loose all my apps and contacts?

  • @strIctlyUndergr0und Connect the phone to itunes and restart the computer while it is connected and the phone is off. Kicks the phone into charging sometimes.

  • @strIctlyUndergr0und That would be the next step, yes. Although it is rare that a faulty battery will not allow the charge to still run through the device. Normally you would be able to use the device while charging but if unplugged, the battery would instantly die. Still worth a shot though - otherwise it is more likely a connection issue (on the motherboard) or motherboard damage.
