zero degrees is a remarkable collaboration between four of today's most respected artists.

Moroccan-Flemish Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui is best known for his work with Les Ballets C. de la B. while Akram Khan is renowned for developing his own 'contemporary Kathak' style, winning numerous awards including a Time Out, Critic's Circle and South Bank Show award. For zero degrees they bring their unique styles together.

Mercury Award winning composer/producer Nitin Sawhney adds his own East-meets-West sound with a specially commissioned score played live by four musicians, and Turner Prize winner Antony Gormley has contributed the staging - two life-size casts of the dancers.

zero degrees explores borders - between countries, cultures and, most importantly, between life and death. It challenges, prompts and inspires, in a seamless fusion of dance styles, music and contemporary art.

If you missed this show last time, be sure to book now for your last chance to see this spellbinding piece of dance.

  • C'était pour mon anniversaire, depuis...

  • wonderful vídeo, beautiful music. Thanks for sharing!!!

  • Somebody knows where I can find this music?

  • @ANIHCUOYKCUF

The music here is composed by Nitin Sawhney and based on the melodic material of his successful piece 'Koyal'. Hope that helps.

  • in response to the derrogatory comments, does a peice always have to 'take' you somewhere? This is quite frankly disconnected the whole way through and rather contradictory!I beleive Khan is under no pressure but his own explorative need to create his work. The majority of informed viewers have found his work original and such comments show you clearly are not 'open to receive it'.Its a joke that you can be that rude about an extremely prominant art form, and doesnt lend itself to wider knowledge.

  • This looks like fun.

  • @markoc99

Thank you Markoc99 Actually I've seen this live and I found my self transcending no deeper than the state I entered in, meaning as an experience it took me nowhere. Also thank you for taking the time to correct my trivial spelling mistake. This for me perhaps highlights the way you view and access things. Everything must be correct if one is to take it serious. I suspect if Akram and most dance artists were allowed to make mistakes then perhaps British dance may progress beyond this.

  • your comment "good art should be able to speak out to anyone open to recieve it. " is puzzling. Did you open yourself to receive it? (note the spelling of receive) Before you call yourself someone who has studied it indepth, may I suggest that you "open" yourself and see it live?

  • Can someone tell me the name of this music?

  • The purpose is to take all that money we spend on lottery tickets and donate it to creating this. Your response is one of admirable honesty Zslam. Contemporary dance they call this, and its usually a pretty embarrassing form.. There are exceptions but they are rare..I think good art should be able to speak out to anyone open to recieve it. This does not, and im someone who has studied it in depth.
