I just seen Georgia Tech perform this today. I think it's a tradition before they go to the field. My band played beside them during Georgia Tech Band Day. They're really good and really loud. I wish we could be that good.

I'm in the band, I sing it at every game and "down on the OLD farm" wouldn't even fit the music.

As for 'up/out for the victory,' the song is old enough for it to go either way.
