I actually used to build those back in 2000. Company went out of buisiness in 2001. And most likely New Zealland may start making them as we did actually ship a set of molds over there back in 2000. I still have a carbon fiber mast in my cellar. Has the aluminum boom still attached. They said that u can plain on just 3 knots of wind. I tried one in 2001 and I was not dissapointed!

Hmm, no shrouds and using a kite? bet that mast flexed a bit. You can see where RS got the rs100 idea cant you. 100 is a nice boat, tried one out this year. To be totally honest though...if you are used to solo trapeze like RS600/700 or Musto Skiff then dont be too pissed off with the upwind performance of the 100...it will get going but takes some insane hiking. Why strain yourself?

obviously an old video
-
is it faster than a moth..... didn't think so
-
Errm, I've seen some of these, this video is utter tripe, they're slower than a laser, unconformable, won't go up wind, heavy, I threw the last abandoned one from my club in a skip took 3 of us. As for the "Fastest Single hander in the world", if you dropped it vertically from a helicopter Top Gear style maybe otherwise no way. My old RS600 (production boat) is an older design, and much much faster without going near the moths IC or other open classes. "First Asymmetric Mono" lie too, IC's first
-
@andeyking I had noticed yes, but i belive the RS100 is a good boat, this is NOT I've seen these. In fact I helped throw the last abandoned one in a skip. NONE OF THESE CLAIMS ARE TRUE. Never seen one beat 20 year old laser with a patched sail.

They stopped building it some years ago, but there are rumours it will be produced again in New Zealand or so, so we'll see.
