You use a single insulated container instead of a double container recommended by feral cat sites. Is it warm enough for all-winter use? Does kitty stay outside all the time or part-time? What part of the country are you in? You have only one door -- any problems with predators trapping cats?

BTW, you can buy a heating pad for outdoors cats; K&H 3093 Extreme Weather Kitty Pad goes for $37 on Amazon - I've used them outdoors in cardboard boxes for 3 winters. They don't overheat.

Suggestion:There is a non-electric heating pad that you warm up in a microwave called a Snuggle-Safe. They look like a frisbee. They will stay warm for up to 8+ hours under a blanket or towel, and are hard plastic, so they can be washed in hot soapy water if necessary. I used it during a Canadian winter for an outside cat that I was assisting.They work really well and last forever if you use them properly.No risk of fires or overheating.
