  • whats a poppy? never heard of them..........must be a british thing

  • @zombiepancakes21 Even if you're unfamiliar with the British Legion; you must know what a poppy is?

  • I've noticed when using an iron on something like paper or a thing cloth, using a smoother towel, maybe a dish towel, or "teatowel" as some may say, instead of a towel that has the little strings things...

  • @blicblak The teatowel I was using was the only one I had on hand for the gag :D

  • @zombiepancakes21 its a little flower

  • He has a much deeper voice than I imagined.

  • JJ, you have a remarkably British voice.

  • @collectedcurios Actually not very many people know what the poppy is (or rather what it symbolizes) then ONLY reason why I actually know, is because of my obnoxious English teacher who believes that it is a very good thing to know.. (I live in Denmark) and the only reason why we were shown, in my class, was because it is part of the mandatory curriculum in high school (or whatever you British people call it, for I only speak American English) to learn about World War 1.. Just saying

  • Your voice makes this an informative documentary.

  • i expected you to be in between boobs

  • @easeease Poppies are a type of flower. After WW1 people began wearing imitations of them to remember fallen soldiers. Often people wear them on Remembrance Day, or Poppy day as I just found out it's called in some countries. Today poppies are worn to remember WWI and WWII soldiers who fell and the veterans alive today who helped to fight. The reason for it being a poppy is because it's believed the poppy was one of the first flowers to grow on the graves of the fallen soldiers.

  • Canadian Poppies look a bit different. They've four leaves and a black circular center with a metal pin. It hasn't a leaf...but it does have the pointy pin that you can use to poke people! :D

  • @SamBlob I actually found the one I bought recently in my car on the morning of the 11th, and I put it back on my lapel, figuring I'd wear them both. It actually fell off AGAIN while I was driving to work, so I left it on my dashboard and wore only the old one. The old one is still on yesterday's collar, hanging in my room, and the new one is still on my dashboard.

My uncle was in the RAF in '44-'46, training to be a radar technician.
