thanx for doing this. it's so great

@Halfadrop Men and women can be friends, some of us aren't so blind to the social construct of gender dichotomy to allow the song's meaning to be totally fucked up by the fact you're a dude. It's perfect as-is, no worries; well done. :)

You gave me chills.

I really needed to hear this...thank you. I was nervous to see that it was a cover of Ani...but you are truly an amazing artist. I thank you again...

I really love this song and I think you did a great job with it! Awesome cover!

I loved it. I 1st saw her in 1991 in Olympia, Wa. I loved your cover, you have great range and depth to your voice. I hope you live somewhere you can record soon. Olympia and Seattle are good places.

This was the very first song of Ani's that I heard. My male English teacher, who came to mean a lot to me but died way too young, played it to me and told me that it had an important message. So I appreciated very much to hear this from a you as a man. But believe me when I say that i appreciated it for much more than the novelty of it being sung by a man. Your guitar work was flawless and your singing and frasing was immaculate.
Thank you for putting this out here and sharing it with us!

Guys...I'm not sure how to respond to all your kind words.
All I have is true, no-nonsense, gratitude.

You played this really well. You play everything that way. I just don't like the way the whole dynamic of the song changes when it's sung by a man. Responses like LaurenHoeben's are why.

Thanks. People have said that before, but I don't agree.
I still think...well..lets say that the mood I was in when I sung it was faithful to the original.
I still wanna play the part of "her" friend, not "her" lover.
