I started doing this immediately with Oz when he was 7 1/2 weeks old... Sharing with him.. Not taking toys from him but holding one side of the toy showing him that I was never not a threat to his toys or food... and continued this throughout his entire life so far... NOTE this is what I recommend doing with your puppy and not starting with an adult dog that already has protective issues..

  • Dear Choppergirljune: I just wanted to let you know that Titan passed away last sunday from Parvo. He will be missed alot; watching Oz gives me lots of joy. Maybe Ulla and Titan are chasing one another up there. :)

  • @beckystar2000 this news breaks my heart.... i am so so sorry...... Hang onto all the incredible memories you made with Titan.... they will keep him alive in your heart and mind. My thoughts are with you...

rip sweet Titan. I know you and ulla are having fun playing up there!!

    Thank you for your message.

  • What Kind of bone did you say this was?? I give my rottie Jackson the mammoth rawhide bones and he chews on them within a day and a half!! I want to try something else....

  • @marias32 I give him nylabones - the "Non-Edible for Powerful Chewers" ... i started him on these when he was young and he loves them!!

  • Awesome training, I use this method combined with complete body massage to teach them to be gentle and to instill bite inhibition.... We are only allowed to play tug after all the training is in place. I find that this works to give them a gentle mouth and they must have a release word that is impeccable even during a tug game. Keep up the great work cause our breed needs more responsible pet parents like U!!!

    As always

    DO NOT BAN THE BREED

    BAN STUPID PEOPLE!!!

    and of course

    ROTTIES RULE!!!

  • Hello! I am in LOVE with your dog and I'm inspired by all the hard work you put into him to make him the best behaved dog I've ever seen. I apologize if you already have one on your blog or something but I (and many others) would be thrilled if you would make a video showing training techniques that you used with him and how you did it so that others that are considering this beautiful breed may see the correct way to train a Rottweiler! Please please please consider this!

  • wow a very well trained Rottie! Only if people were responsible like you. Very sweet dog

  • My dog used to be bed protective. Everytime she tried to growl I was softly telling her "no grr" and the problem got solved. We share the bed ;P

  • "Hey"

    "Human say what?"
