A meths fired John Turner loco geared, with twin oscillating cylinders mounted vertically in the cab, traversing my recently built garden railway. Shot on a Konica Minolta A200 using movie mode. 28mm macro setting. The infrequent 'honking flatulence' sound comes from the safety valve and is characteristic of some early 16mm locos.
I built this engine in 1984 so its 25 years old and still sounds good, but I never liked the safety valve, but customer is always right he liked it. I'll send you a photo of it when it was new Dud Regards John Turner (Calekid)

Nice live steam there.Nice bark and if the safety valves sounded a little less 'honking' then it would be a fantastic video with great sound too!

I think the wierd honking noise is the safety valve lifting. if you watch carefully you can see steam emit from it at the same time as the noise. Lovely railway! more please.
