Macy passed away 1/08/11 due to complications from injuries she suffered after being attacked along with her friend Sophie (Jack Russell Terrier) on New Years Eve morning by two vicious, large, pitbull mixed breed dogs here at our condo complex in Newport Beach, CA. Sophie was shaken and is thankfully ok and Macy survived surgery for her initial injuries but passed away on January 8, 2011 while going under anesthesia for a hematoma on a broken ear she suffered from the dog attack. Macy was a loving, sweet and joyful spirit. She was 8 yrs old and 14 lbs full of personality. My heart is forever broken and I miss her terribly. I posted these videos of Macy and her friends to help myself through the grieving process and to share with friends/family. She was a special little girl loved by many. I'm grateful to have been her human mom for 8 great years. It takes a village to overcome sorrow and I want to thank family, friends and neighbors who have reached out to help me through this time. Breaks my heart that after 8 years of loving, nurturing and fussing over you, someone else's carelessness and negligence took you from me here on our home turf where we assumed we were safe. The loss of this little creature has hurt me more than I thought possible and the vision of her little body in the jaws of that dog haunt my dreams. I have nothing against the Pitbull breed. Macy actually had a pit friend named Ramses. It's the owner of these dogs I blame for harboring 2 large, very aggressive dogs, going out of town and negligently entrusting them to a dog walker who had no idea of their aggression. The irresponsible dog's owner took away something most precious to me that can never be replaced and I am inconsolable. I love you little girl, gone much too soon! Run in heaven with Molly, Magnum, August, Lancer, Piper and Queenie. You were the heart of my home and will live on in my heart forever. XOXO Miss you, Mom
