Chinese is officially referred to people with Chinese citizenship. But Chinese is more widely referred to only Han Chinese. Therefore, Dilber is Chinese according to her citizenship, but her ethnnicity is Uighur. Ckear, no more arguments about this.

She is a Chinese. She graduated from Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, China.

Ah no wonder.... Bel canto.

I was redirected here from a Sumi Jo video singing the same piece. These two ladies bring different qualities to this piece. Yunus's voice is richer and more syrupy but I'd say I prefer Sumi's thinner, crystalline tone.

THANK YOU for putting this here! I ABSOLUTELY love Dilber, her voice is like a beautiful rose. Love this!

While visiting Cairo a few years back, I met some university students who were from Singapore. They may have gone to university in Egypt, but that didn't make them Egyptian. Dilber is Uyghur culturally, and Chinese by nationality.
