You use satire to be funny, I don't expect Will Ferrel to say "btw im totally just joking guys" and expect you to appologize just bc you aren't a millionaire. Where is the line that people think you must cross in order to say what you want? Moreover, I think some folks get offended, not because they themselves are personally offended, but because they think "hey that might offend someone" or "hey I think I am supposed to take offense to that aren't I...YEAH! I am offended!"
