Very interesting approach! Being a physical systems scientist I lately I work on the thin line between physical science and social projects. It seems to me that mimetic theory more or less is a very straight forward application of systems research to our own species - which I re-named to "Homo Sapiens Potentialis" for we are not mainly reasonable but do have the potential...
The raven is a good choice - I chose the title "Rabenwelt" (Raven World) for a novel for the same reason. Good luck!

A noble idea, but how about a hypothetical? If someone had the opportunity to kill Hitler before he exterminated over 6 million people, would it be more just to kill him or simply let him continue with his plan because, as you say, any act of violence in any situation does not justify the ends of that act? Saving the lives of millions vs. letting what many believe to be the antichrist incarnate live seems like a very easy choice to make...

The Hitler question is a great question. You are aboslutely right to bring it up. I think we could learn a lot from Bonhoeffer, who tried to kill Hitler. There may be times when we need to use violence, but it is never good. The problem with violence is that everyone thinks their violence is good. Hitler, and most of Germany, thought their violence was "good." I'd say violence is always a failure-a failure to live in the spirit of reconciliation. Yet, sometimes failure may be inevitable.

Another difficulty with the Hitler question is that it avoids violence that the allies committed. I'm thinking specifically of the atomic bomb that the US dropped. Before the US dropped it, President Truman stated, "This is the greatest thing in history." That, I think, reveals the problem with violence. We like it, and so it transcends our ability to control it. We think we can use violence, but I'm agraid violence ends up using us.
