In a collaborative research project, Intel, University of Washington and Carnegie Mellon University have started exploring how activity-based computing can help address our impact on the global environment. By displaying transportation activity information on the background of an individuals mobile phone, the UbiGreen transportation activity display gives people an ambient awareness of their weekly transportation usage. I came to post something along these lines, but I couldn't say it any better myself.

Well said, I couldn't agree more! People are so worried about 'going green' when in fact... it's impossible if you don't just mainly live in a bubble... and even then I am sure something would be bad for the environment!! lol

Carbon Footprint, really? How far do you want to go? That keyboard you are sitting at is made in China, out of pertroleum, packed in cardboard and plastic wrap, sent on a container ship that dumps its waste in the ocean, unloaded by cranes using deisel fuel, shipped to a warehouse by truck, that uses tires made from rubber , over roads made of asphalt and to to top it off it uses 5 volts of electricity-carbon foot print is an unsorpportable concept.
