@HARDC0RY503 It really has to do with actual musical talent. Most music is aesthetic, but why would you listen to samples and drum machine music made by producers in a studio when you have people playing actual instruments as a band, writing and creating their own music.

Finally we get a good look at her face after 2:22 and... sadly wasn't worth the wait, great band though.

@HARDC0RY503 The intent and attitude I would think. The rap that is no less deep is mostly done with the intent of money and to sell an image of 'tough/cool' which subsequently helps sell more by attracting (usually younger people) into the attitude and culture. Bands like this are usually more interested in just making a song for the fun of making something and revel in the creation. That attitude really comes off in the music, and that, I think, is the reason. I say all this in general terms.

subpop is unhealthy for me. i have opened too many tabs for several bands...... my whole computer is about to crash...

this is the same "alternative" seattle scene label from the 90's ... wtf !?!?!
this is the music they made a living absolutely castigating back in the day ... i mean you understand the irony here right? taking a shit on this kind of stuff in the late 80s and early 90s was absolutely their bread and butter ... it was how they made their money and made a name for themselves.
this isnt subpop ... its. just. ... pop. it may be independently made, but its pop nevertheless ...

This is obviously Brilliant. It's genius. I hope people are joking about this discussion of music.

I'd say this is a more credible record being written and performed by the band with as a means in itself as opposed to commercial music which is a means to an end which is money.
I think also you've got to look at this and see it isn't a massive hit it's 3 years old and has less than 60 thousand views whereas you can look at song with equal or less depth with millions and millions of views. So why should it be thought of in the same vain?
ok, so music confuses me. So this song obviously isn't deep, its not bad or anything, but it's mostly aesthetic value right? so my point is that i know people that talk shit bout rap and other stuff they say has no meaning and is just for aesthetic value, but yet they listen to stuff like this. now why would some say its better, the sub pop sign of approval? maybe its because the intentions behind bands like these are more likely not to sell out but just to have fun? looking for opinions
