Twenty-five vertical-axis wind turbines at Quinnipiac Universitys York Hill Campus are the centerpiece for Centerbrook Architects program of sustainable design strategies there. The units represent the first micro turbine cluster on an American college campus. The universitys second campus opened this fall and features residence halls that houses up to 2,000 students, a 2000-car parking facility, a Student Center, and the TD Bank Sports Center that was completed in 2006.

  • Normal wind turbines cost a less and spinns faster = producing energy this turbines are only for modern looking

  • I am not sure what is your point. They are not supposed to spin fast when the brake is on and not supposed to produce power until the utility connected.

  • At that speed these turbines are making ZERO electricity. I know this for a fact!
