  • Great tip love quick fixes. I do have 1 question my trans (believe it's trans) skips sometimes when taking off, (when i say skip it's almost like it looses traction then regains it about 3-4times within seconds of taking off from park or stop light) one person stated it could be tires as they do need replacing but to me it seems a bit to strong of skips to be tires whats your opinion.?

  • Most likely the transmission is slipping. Certain transmission on the Windstar will engage from Park to Drive a bit slower, thus when you press the gas the trans is between gears.. it tends to give the impression the trans is slamming into gear. This is an internal problem in the trans. What you could check yourself would be the Trans Oil level and maybe change the oil and trans filter. If that doesn't solve the problem it could be the torque converter or a valve/gear/modulator.

  • thanks Mike for the video! Very helpful in changing out switch yesterday. I couldn't see paying a guy $80.00 an hour for R2 of item. Not gonna lie though, it took a little time to get switch worked out of spot. I initially thought the bolt that held the switch in place had a lock nut. That could have been very BAD and very EXPENSIVE. Thanks again for the video.

  • if you have the all data program for vehicules, u must look under : digital transmission range sensor and it will show you the same thing but not detailed like this guy showed but i'm just saying that's called Digital Transmission Range sensor or Neutral safety switch as the called it

  • that's why mine have the same problem

  • Whats the sensor beside the neutral switch I broke mine while installing a new trans?

  • Hi thank you so much for the helpful video, i just have one question , i have Ford Escort 2002 the stick stuck on Park and wont move to drive unless i press the release button on the side of the shift with a screw. do you think it will be the same problem ? thank you

  • Nice

  • Thank you

    Great tip love quick fixes

  • Thank you for the neutral safety switch video. It looks like ours just went out tonight. Do you know about replacing a heater blend door in a 95 Windstar? It seems that mine might have gone out because I have nothing but cold air right now. I tested the acutator, it still works. thermostat is ok, water level ok. Do you have a video to replace a heater blend door?

    Thank you

  • This part is on recall currently. Thanks for the video.

  • Thanks, Mike...but can someone tell me about disconnecting the air suspension system. I was reading in the Haynes manual that THAT has to be done first.

Is it really necessary because it is not mentioned in this tutorial.
