Here is my review for the film My Sister's Keeper. Although I was frustrated with the changes that they made to the movie, I would still recommend going and seeing it!
The book was was WAY better. The father didn't speak at court at all, but in the book he did. Which somewhat bothered me. Also, in the book not only does Cameron Diaz shave her head, but Abigail's character does as well, but not in the movie. Campbell and JJulia's weird relationship in the book annoyed me and I found that pointless and I'm glad it wasn't in the movie. I am SO close to the end but just a few more pages and I'm done. But the book had more stuff, but overall it was great film.
I feel exactly the same way as you about the ending. I read the book and loved it and I was so excited that they were making it into a movie, but even before it came out I heard that they were changing the ending, which to me I thought was the best part of the book. I loved the movie but I thought it would have been better if they wouldn't have changed anything. I think the book ending would have been more of a shock and just hit the audience a lot more than what happened in the movie.
I'm scared to see this movie, because I've heard from SO many people that its a cry fest. And I am a huge crybaby. It seems like a bad combination, since I wouldn't want to sob uncontrollably lol
I finished reading the book on Sunday. I'm going to see the movie this weekend. It is by far the best book that I've ever read. I cried so much at the end. I even tear up a little every now and then when I think about Kate and Anna and Jesse. It's such a sad, beautiful story. I hope that I won't be too disappointed with the movie.
I read the book about a month before the movie came out and I absolutely loved it.
Amazing writing
Great Plot
I also loved the movie, and cried multiple times throughout.
Yet, just like you, I was rather disappointed with how the movie ended. Even though it was a GREAT visual depiction of the novel.
I later realized that the movie is not supposed to follow the novel line by line. Its only BASED on the novel. but i do believe it would have been a lot better without the change.

i have read the book, but i don't think the movie looks that good, the trailers don't remind me of the book.
i don't know if i'll watch it,
i'm curious to see what they changed though.

I thought that, overall, the movie was fantastic. The ending really bothered me. It was the biggest, most drastic cut.
