Well its either because Chrono Cross came out a few good years before KH and so they feel it should be "Kingdom Hearts is reminiscent of Chrono Cross" or... they just disagree...

But given these games were produced by the same company... I don't doubt why there wouldn't be some sort of connection.

I personally think Chrono Cross's OST is one of the best I've come across. KH had some great pieces, but I don't think it quite compares.
