Thomas Enders, the Assistant Secretary of State in the Reagan administration, also tried to discredit The Washington Post and The New York Times in front of Congress, claiming that their reported numbers of deaths were inaccurate.

Enders eventually convinced Congress that the Salvadoran government was making ongoing efforts to recognize human rights, and that the US should increase military aid to El Salvador.

What I am unsure of is to what extent this could happen again. Could an administration put newspapers under such pressure that they reassign journalists?

Did you hear about the Dutch politician that claimed that the holy book from the Muslims (Koran/Coran) is hatefull and is telling people to commit terrorism? This is kind off the same thing, isn't it?

I love to have the freedom of speech, but some people are taking it to far... There is a fine line between freedom of speech and talking shit about other people...

I never heard about what you mention but it's not the same. My video is about something that happened and there was an attempt to suppress it.

It would be great to see you, be aware though that I'm going to Paris with Jimmy from 30th April to 6th May. You could join us for a day or two!

Thank you, I have wavered today between feeling sorry that my American friends might find this too aggressive and pride that I am pointing out that America uses the war against communism/drugs/terrorism to advance its business interests.

I feel a sense of irony listening to the gentleman speak.. I think he has a good mind and really understands good ethics and his profession (the way the profession should be). I remember being a child of 13 in El Salvador in 1983 and seeing "blonde" men speaking English american reporters)coming out of restaurants with Salvadorean military men.. having the time of their lives! I recall people commenting about it .A topic of conversation at the time amongsts the adults in my family
