Red Dead Redemption - Caulk the wagon and float!

Someone requested I upload this. Apparently a Red Dead forum is interested in seeing it? I don't know what other reason anyone would have to watch it; on the one hand, it's a video of "water travel" in RDR, but on the other, it's a video of me floating on top of a wagon for ten minutes. I uploaded this a little earlier than I wanted to; I was planning to do it again and hopefully make it all the way down the river, as I got stuck in this video.

I have tried this several times in Thieves Landing and Blackwater and can't float any farther than the point in this video. Has anyone else made it farther?
