Koalas (they are not bears at all !!! ) main food source are just the leaves of a few species of gum (eucalyptus) trees. These leaves are said to be very fibrous and poisenious and that's why tummy's of Koala's need hard working to illiminate the poison, bringing these cute ( but I am proud of a koala bite mark from long time ago...) creatures in a lot of sleep... up to 16 hours a day.
Deze pictures are taken at the Castle Hill koala park in Sydney, where they roam free in the trees. The park is fenced with corrugated steel sheets to prevent Koalas to climb over.
