Japan has taken an early lead in the market for gasoline-electric hybrid cars, but the United States is poised to take the lead in the hybrid truck market. According to a recent Duke University study, more than 30 U.S. states have hybrid truck manufacturing, assembly or research and development operations. As VOA's Rosanne Skirble reports, the study concludes that with the right policies in place, the U.S. hybrid truck industry should continue to expand -- generating badly needed jobs and reducing air pollution.

Did you notice that the tractor trailer on the interstate was hauling an empty, flatbed trailer....lightweight is what we need...Hybrid just cannot withstand these heavy loads we haul. The hybrid container would add more weight in itself!
