IMO Bentley Little's stories are even scarier than Stephen King's. ALL of Little's stories are scary.
The only Stephen King stories that scared me were Children of the Corn, The Stand, Needful Things and Storm of the Century.
I never would have called him "America's #1 scary guy."
The scariest writers I've read are John Saul, Anne Rice, and Frank Peretti, who wrote a horror novel called House.
