These promos were for the Eyewitness News Team in 1974-75. Anchorman Solon Gray, Sportscaster Frank Hudson weather 'analist' Steve Newman. IF ANYONE KNOWS WHERE FRANK HUDSON IS TODAY, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.
Frank Hudson was at WAFB in Baton Rouge in the mid 1980s until he was removed in 1988 when AFLAC brought the station. My channel has a handful of promos and news teasers featuring him.
I worked with Frank at WDBO in Orlando in the mid 70's....he was the weekday anchor.....don't know what became of him though, I think he left in the late 70s? (I did, in 1980)
It's interesting to see the similarities in stations owned by the same group. A video from WCMH-TV from about the same time uses the same font and a similar news desk. Check out the video at

"A complete weather man"...does that mean the other weathermen are fakes, like Superboy is to Superman?
I would also love to find a direct download to the background jingle used here.

Yep. Outlet was probably one of the first groups to have any sort of standardization, Westinghouse probably being the first.

These guys were all by the time I showed up in Syracuse for college, 9 years after this.

I tell ya what...the music bed on these promos is pure genius. I'd go to great lengths to get my hands on a clean copy of it...
