Menos to mean 'till is used in many countries but para is an accepted regional variation. So linguistically both would be correct and practically both would be understood.

It was great until I came to a quarter 'till since it seems to translate to four 'till.

I really liked this lesson because I often get confused when telling time in Spanish, however I would have liked it to have been explained a little more on the more difficult times. Gracias Mauricio!
