  • im thinking bout the bxri 500 systym? firstly can i use my pocket wizards with them, and apart from the mains power, can they be run from a portable battery pack?

  • @gezzy321 you certainly can use a PW with them, however, you won't get the power control feature that you get with the included skyport.

You can run them from a battery pack, we recommend the Innovatronix Explorer XT SE.

  • I hate these markteting videos.

"they're also all fan-cooled". The Dlite 4s that I have aren't fan cooled. They overheat pretty quickly - especially with snoot attached. It's frustrating that you can only use battery packs with the most expensive heads too.

  • I'm sorry you don't like the videos. This is the first time we've ever done something like this and we'd really value viewers opinions, good and bad. Please feel free to be more specific about what you don't like, I can then present that to Chris and the editor so they can make better videos in the future.

Regarding your D-Lites, they must be from the first generation, All new D-Lites are now fan cooled. You can minimize overheating, especially with a snoot, by turning off he modeling light...

  • ...So far as battery packs are concerned, at TFC we do a unit called Flash Feeder which will happily power D-Lite heads.

Could you let us know where you heard about only expensive units working on batteries?

    many thanks and kind regards

    Alex, TFC

  • From what I have read, elinchrom's flash duration gets slower when the strobe is not at full power. So when elinchrom is at minimum power, it has a pretty lengthy flash duration compared to speedlites which have the fastest flash duration at minimum power and the slowest at maximum.

  • this guy has asthma

  • I never questioned your affiliation with Elinchrom, but some objectivity either in titling the video, or an attempt at being less blatant in glorifying Elinchrom at the expense of all competition (Profoto and so forth) would make for a considerably better watch.

  • The new Dlites are all fan cooled. They also work with battery packs like the Vagabond II, or the Innovatrix explorer XT.

  • Good video

  • Nice to see a polite, professional reply. Much appreciated.
