Hello friends, maybe your opinion ref. Mabel Normand is correct. But what about Mabel Elaine, the black-faced artist of TOWN TOPICS, that was accompanied by the Creole Band of Freddie Keppard and Bill Johnson from about 1915/1917 ?? King Oliver resp. Ike Smith, the composer, might possibly have known her.

The female pianist in King Oliver's Jazz Band is some piano player "Lil Hard" u'll never hear the piano played like that unless you listen to Lil. The Utmost!
