The red haried girl in the back is my cousin!

Here, the traditional cadence is played at a slowed tempo consistent with training methods in Japan, as it can be difficult for the novice to pick up at full speed (viz., as beat during the procession at the Yomatsuri's conclusion).

Where did the club receive training from? I only know of a handful of people in the states who can teach this song. Sound is not bad though. :)

@MUDBOITAI Contact the Waitaikos at waitaiko.com. I know the club started with people who had spent time in Japan and began training there and have passed their knowledge on to other members, but they have also had specialists visit for training and workshops, so they may be able to help out with some contacts : )

Looking great! And sounding great as well! Does this exist on a DVD? Or do you know any other recording of yatai-bayashi, except for the one KODO have done?

Contact the Wai Taikos directly (just google them for details). They have the mastered footage and also some concert footage we took that may be available on DVD. Thanks for your comments.

That was a pretty good rendition of yatai bayashi. What i think would make it great is if you guys raised the tempo. I don't know, but it just feels a bit too slow. Good kata and unity. Sounds like one drum!
