In this 2-part segment on Out-FM, we're going to discuss some of the many ways that this country's criminal justice system systematically target lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, and transgender people -- particularly those who are working class, people of color, and gender non-conforming -- for mistreatment, discrimination and abuse. We'll especially be focusing on a book published earlier this year titled Queer (In)justice: The criminalization of LGBT people in the United States, by Joey Mogul, Andrea Ritchie and Kay Whitlock. Today in part 1 we will pose the question: Is abolition of the death penalty a queer issue?
