You probably don't know what conservatism is about if you think this devolution was conservative. Conservative always vote for the old monarchist/patriarch society (supported slavery, didn't want equal rights for the poor, women, slaves. They supported the monarch, and the conservative teachings of the church, which sussed religion to keep people obedient . There were 2 privileged classes nobility and clergy. They payed little tax, owned the whole country.Don't reinvent history!
That is bull crap. They overthrew the absolute monarchy(elitist) regime which was opposed to the rest of, and the majority of the society. The liberte egalite fraternite, the red flags, the fact it is said that the french revolution gave the voice to people who didn't have a vise too the middle and lower class. The ideas were totally socialist egalitarian, opposed to the monarchist ideas. The people are the country not the monarch, nobility, clergy. This was not a conservative revolution.
I find it unbelievable to realise how many times people had to fight to get the rights of the people today. Not to say the system is perfect. It just blows mind, of the dedication of people throughout history. Nice webcast

PLEASE do your homework, before you post. For starters it was 1832, NOT 1848.... also... Andrew Lloyd Webber has NOTHING to do with Les Miserables.
