Obviously, the whole world is aware of the devastation that has occurred on yesterday in Haiti.

I write this missive to let you know about what the New Covenant Baptist Church of Orlando is doing about the Haitian crisis. The Bible says to whom much is given, much is required. You will r...emember that we as a church swung into action with the Katrina crisis, relocating some 39 people back to Orlando from Houston after the devastation in New Orleans.

For the more than fifteen years, we have sponsored a combination of 9 churches, orphanages and schools in Haiti (Port-au-Prince, Nordress, Cape Haitian, Jacmel, etc.). Our minister, Olistin Estecoeur, Pastor of the New Covenant Baptist Church of Port-au-Prince was here in November reporting on the status of Haiti.

Presently, we sponsor a charter school here in Orlando — The Rio Grande Charter School of Excellence — a public school with more than a thirty percent Haitian student population. All of our children have been affected by this tragedy.

We are taking up a special offering for Haiti, and we are asking those individuals desirous of making an offering to make checks payable to Covenant Charities, a 501 (c) (3), not-for profit corporation, and sent to the address below. If you want to support our continued effort, we ask that you help us. The devastation is beyond our resources.
