Just get Linux.

If you get any malicious software or anything like that in your mac all u need to do is delete your hard drive and reinstall everything once again with a previous backup of course and you're good to go. It'll take time of course, but your machine will be back to normal. Same way you get rid of viruses on Windows. If I'm wrong, then correct me :)

you can indeed put a virus on a mac, just as you can on Ubuntu or any Linux distribution. The main difference between DOS/Windows and UNIX/UNIX-like/UNIX-type systems is the file systems. If you install software that has been reverse engineered, and you give it the permissions it needs to exploit your system, then it will indeed do that. The safest way to avoid any trouble is only use legitimate software.

Quit downloading pirated shit if you don't know what your doing, you will get viruses no matter what OS your using.

Anyone who says there aren't programs that can infect a mac are either delusional or just stupid. The thing with mac malware is that the user has to allow the action. IE: by installing software from a questionable source such as "pirate bay" etc. When you install any software the mac requires a administrator password to allow the install. If the initial code was altered and you downloaded and installed it.... You asked for it.
People believe that there is never anything within mac programs. Technically there are not viruses for mac, at least not in the traditional sense. However, if you install a program and it installs malicious software, then you installed malicious software onto your mac. It does whatever that malicious software does and allows whatever that malicious software allows with the privileges you used to install it
The only way to be absolutely sure is to obtain the genuine article from apple
peace :)

thank you for your comment and hopefully people realize that macs are not immune to everything, They are less likely to occur thankfully but not in the slightest impossible

Good, but....there is a little problem: there aren't Trojan for Mac!
Apple offer 5000 $ for who will create a virus for Mac.....hence, i think that it's difficult to take a Virus.......
P.S. sorry for the English, but I'm italian.....

Thanks for your input but there is in fact Trojans for Mac, because their not as abundant like the number of viruses, trojans, etc for PC, so many believe there are none but Let me assure you there are trojans, viruses, etc for Mac, the ones for Mac are just harder to come by because there is so much less than PC. You can look up more info yourself by just googling "trojans for mac". Hopefully I could be of Help and your English isn't bad.

You would buy a new computer if you got a mac trojan. WTF ? Reinstall dude.

I said restore in the side annotation of that part but you have a point, I didnt want to say reinstall and then silly people reinstall the same trojan (I've seen it before sadly). Also, It just takes more effort to back up all your stuff and many I guarantee will not back up everything before they download it so they may lose data that they can never get back if they want to get rid of it. I don't think just deleting it will guarantee the trojan goes away..thanks for the input though, seriously.
