This is the procedure for changing the oil in a Yamaha Vino XC50 four stroke scooter. This was filmed in Japan, so there is information relevant to people trying this in that country. Otherwise, the information will be relevent to anyone anywhere who is changing the oil in a Yamaha Vino 50cc four stroke scooter.

  • i bet your scottish xD anyway what does the oil do for the bike? i dont know why people change it

  • @scooterkillz Hi mate. Actually, I'm from Northern Ireland, which is not a kick in the arse from Scotland, physically or culturally, so you were not far off. Oil lubricates the engine parts, preventing wear and tear and acting as a coolant. The standard wisdom is that you should change the oil on a new bike after 1000km, and then again after it's first 3,000km and every 3,000km thereafter. If you want to keep your engine in good shape, you should do this. Also, you should not but cheap oil.

  • Aye, she wasn't half as happy as your wife was when I called around to change hers ;o)

  • Super helpful video, thanks for it. Just ordered the 4-stroke oil online and accidentally ended up with Yamalube "Marine Performance" instead of the all-purpose oil marketed for use in motorcycles, ATVs and scooters. Can't find any recommendations against using marine performance in a scooter though, do you know any reason I shouldn't?

  • Dude, that kind of you to change the oil on your wife's bike.
