  • This is a very similar setup to what I am in the midst of installing at my house. I have got exactly the same antenna as you, I hope it lives up to its awesome reputation

  • @PennG0VQY I took a look at your videos. You have a similar setup to W1MAW with that crank up tower. The tower in the video is not mine, it' N1ZJ's, the antenna works smashingly when it works. As with anything with that many moving parts it will have issues. The most common one is water in the elements that freezes and fouls the copper tapes that are the antenna. It's a good thing you have a tilt over for easy servicing. Good luck with your's and we will see you on the air. 73 de NG1Z

  • I just got my tower up, and I love, love, love it! It's nice to see some fellow hams working together, using the right equipment and materials to do the job right!

Awesome music as well! 73 and good job!

  • hello again from the UK. We are constructing the 3 element steppir slowly, never done one before so sorry we are working from a blank song sheet. I was hoping that you could give us a few tips and hints on anything that we should pay particular attention to, maybe you had a few problems that you managed to solve and you could past onto us to save us from banging our heads against the wall. thank you Penn G0VQY

  • @NG1Z thankfully it rarely gets that cold where I live on the south-west coast of England. In fact, live in a part of the country that has a slightly warmer climate than everywhere else. In fact, we can grow palm trees in the area where I live, so very cold weather is very rare, I don't think I will have a serious problem with antennas freezing up. Anyway, I'm very much looking forward to setting things up and I will make a point of making a note of your call sign. 73 G0VQY

  • A real ham kicks his wife out first for the night then drinks beer as he put the tower up at night without a belt. His safty net is a tramp-o-line at the bottom of the tower. His favorite line is ... Hey guys... watch this...

  • ONLY PROBLEM....His wife moved out after hearing Dits and DAHS all night.

I disagree on the Safety belt. You aint a real ham unless you install your Uagi in the dark with no belt.
