If it wasnt for this Jim Carey would actually a nobody now just because he was a stand uo comedian, but he didnt have serious roles, he did Once Bitten yeah, but its a debut, Earth Girls Are Easy he talked in alien, Duck Factory is the reason he did ever 90's comedy

Reminds me of Welcome to The Captain. Both showbiz shows about average fish out of water guys, involved in the showbiz industry. Both had the main character surrounded by a bunch of weirdos, and the female lead/love interest. Both had main characters with 4 letter first names (Skip/Josh). Both were single camera shows, and therefore out of their environment (TDF was in the 80s, WTTC was on CBS). Some other things just give it the same vibe.

This was also one of the very few times we get to see the face of the late Don Messick, the man of many voices on many of Hanna-Barbera's animated shows such as Scooby Doo, Jonny Quest, The Jetsons, The Smurfs among Hanna-Barbera shows. I didn't know Clearance Gilyard, Jr., bka Trevett from Walker, Texas Ranger was on this show?

In my opinion this is the best thing Jim Carrey has done. To bad the show didn't last long.

This programme pre-dated "ILC" by quite a bit: it premiered in April of '84 on NBC and was on in the Thurs. 9:30 slot right after "Cheers".

From what I heard on A&E Biography, Jim Carey hated this show. He was frustrated at being typecast as a straight man and wanted to cut loose like in his standup routines. The show looked like it would give him that opportunity, but once again he was stuck in the same role, while everyone else around him got to go nuts.
