Lal Masjid in the Line of Fire

Interior Ministry spokesman Javed Iqbal Cheema said Mr Abdul Rashid Ghazi was killed.
The Lal Masjid (Urdu: لال مسجد; translated: Red Mosque) is a mosque located in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan. A religious school for women, the Jamia Hafsa madrasah, as well as a male madrasah, are attached to the mosque. The Lal Masjid was built in 1965 and is named for its red walls and interiors. After Abdullah was assassinated in the 1990s, his sons Abdul Aaziz Ghazi and Abdul Rashid Ghazi took over the mosque.

Ending result of Lal Masjid is very painful for all Pakistanis. I wish Gov. and the Lal Masjid administration would have figured out a better way.

Many says that Lal Masjid was a setup by Musharraf to terrify the west after fall in his popularity in his country. Lal Masjid not only made west think that Pakistan is still under Taliban type extremists and western countries have admired Gen. Musharraf's stance on Lal Masjid. Exactly as Musharraf planned!
