The Puma (Mini-Documentary)

The puma, often called also mountain lion or cougar (but it has more than 40 names, like painter, catamount, deer tiger, panther, mountain screamer...), it's a beautiful wild cat. It live only in the New World, its historic range included all the United States of America, but the colonialism has exterminated the cougar for most of the territories from the east of the Canada and of the United states.

beautiful! how high can it jump? it says more than ten meters but other sites say less ....... and 64km/h speed?

@pitufinayeahyeah Hi! Actually I can say you that every source changes facts, so many infos are confused... some say it can jump 6 meters long, others 10, others even 18! In high I read it can jump until 5 meters, but somewhere I read 7 meters.

Same story about the speed... some say 56 km/h, others 65 km/h, some 90 km/h and others even 100 km/h! It's a pity there aren't clear informations :(

It does, if you think about it. If a piece of wilderness is protected and reserved for hunting, people come in every now and then and kill animals. If it isn't protected, then the whole darn thing gets paved over and turned into a hotel. All life is destroyed.

Now, of course, it would be the best to just leave the land alone entirely, but I suppose that hunting ground is an acceptable middle-ground.

By the way, I'm not a hunter... I take spiders out of my house in plastic cups. =]
