  • According to wiki egypts biggest revenue is tourism and US grant aid. How about taking your protest to airports and travel agents flying to egypt?

I for one will not be holidaying there soon after hearing this.

  • thats a good idea. make sure u tell them why.

  • Kareem has been sentenced to 4 years in prison today. He will appeal on Saturday hopefully to reduce the length of the sentence. HELP HIM, SIGN THE PETITION.

  • the sad thing is even his own family is not supporting him at this difficult time. they say he should repent or be put to death. we have to show him we support him and we can do that by signing the petition.

  • Wish you all Freedom!

  • You are agian missing my point.

I'm not going to repeat what I said again.. I admire you ability to bullshit though :)

  • Regarding Kareem's call for the arrest of a scholar: I would be surprised if that were the case and I'd like to know where you got that impression from. What I believe you read was that radical imams who preach violent forms of jihad must be arrested.

Even if what you claim is true, Kareem still has the right to free speech. You're engaging in an ad hominen fallacy. If Kareem were a thief, that does not mean he has no right to report someone stealing him.

  • Kareem also criticized Copts. He was a contributor to Copts United but discontinued because they were discouraging him from publishing articles critical of Copts. So this is not just about offending one religion. Kareem believes in a secular state in which the rights of the religious people are guaranteed. You cannot guarantee your right as a Muslim without guaranteeing your neighbor's right as a Christian, Jew, atheist, agnostic, Zoroastrian, or even as a Flying Spaghetti Monster believer.

  • Thousands have been in and out prison. some have been there for years. some have spent most of their adult life in prison. most of them had court rulings to release them that the regime just chose to ignore. No one rallied for them!! But it takes only one guy to speak against Islam and offend millions of Muslems to ignite rallies and protests if the FREE world. In a comment on another blog, kareem himself was for the arrest of a muslem scholar. kareem himself is against free speech.

  • Dear mistery3k,

In no way does the status of other political prisoners become less when we rally for Kareem. When we rally for Kareem we rally for hundreds of Kareems too. When one person is vindicated in the name of free speech, everything else will come easily. Hit a snow mountain in the right spot a few times, and an avalanche will occur. This is what I expect to see once Kareem is set free. When he is freed, thousands of young bloggers will see it as a license to free speech.
