To create an antique look with faux painting, apply a glaze mix to a wall and use a duster brush to simulate silk on the wall, moving the brush down the wall in straight lines. Fill in imperfections with brushed on glaze to create an antique finish with instructions from an interior designer and decorative artist in this free video on faux finishes.

  • Is there a faux finish technique for making a faux finish look like real victorian wallpaper, or wallpaper that looks like something out of the disney ride "The Haunted Mansion"?

  • that doesn't look like silk . . .

  • start from a corner... usually top... work down, because of drips. i like to start in the middle on one side and work my way up and down as i go across the entire wall. if you cant work fast enough as the paint dries then your in trouble... youll start to stretch dry paint if your not fast enough to catch your seams before they dry.

  • how would u proceed when you have an entire wall? do you go from the top to the bottom all the way in one go?
