I never alluded as to what race the teacher was...it really doesn't matter. It's not a race thing, it's the principle of the matter. As a teacher, it is NOT your place to cut a child's hair. That is a form of assault, because you are touching the person against their consent.

If that was my child and a teacher cut her hair, I would have went up to the school and shaved her head in front of her students so she could see what that child went through. No teacher has a right to punish a child that way. She is not the parent. If she is under that much stress she shouldn't be working there. I would want her fired, because that could happen to another child at any time. I wouldn't except her fake sympathy. Hire a first year teacher.

There's definitely a double standard. Parents with poor parenting skills are quick to yell, spank, or beat their kids for the most insignificant of things. But if anyone else does it, it's messing with the lion's cubs. And no one should inflict physical punishment onto another person's child, but teachers get their patience tested daily & can't punish.

Her form of discipline went above and beyond what's normal. She definitely lost her cool, and it should not have happened.

America will not address poor parenting --no, BAD parenting until a teacher KILLS a student IN THE CLASSROOM. The teacher was dead wrong, and I would definitely press charges --but ONLY if I've been disciplining my children. ONLY if I'm coming to school when I the school calls me. Kids who look up to their teachers are often are obedient to those teachers. I'm a school social worker. You can't physically discipline kids and many parents REFUSE to take responsibility for their kids' behavior
